\n<\/strong>Chinese users on the social media have started calling the 79-year-old president \u201cChuan Jianguo,\u201d which translates to \u201cTrump the Country Builder,\u201d The Mirror reported.
\nAs per reports, the nickname, which spread online after Trump visited Beijing last week, is actually meant as an insult, with many joking that his policies and tariffs have helped the East Asian nation to become more self-reliant by increasing technology, energy, and food production.<\/span><\/p>\n

Xi raises concerns over \u2018Thucydides Trap\u2019 during meeting<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Last Thursday marked the seventh face-to-face meeting between Trump and Xi since their first meeting in 2017.<\/p>\n

During the summer, the Chinese leader referenced the \u2018Thucydides Trap,\u2019 a theory often used to describe rising tensions between powerful nations.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether China and the United States can transcend the so-called Thucydides Trap and create a new normalization of relations between major powers,\u201d he said, would determine \u201cwhether we can join hands to address global challenges and inject greater stability into the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also, he spoke about \u2018the future destiny of humanity\u2019 and the need to build \u2018a better future for bilateral relations\u2019.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Trump struck a warm tone, telling Xi: \u201cYou\u2019re a great leader\u2026sometimes people don\u2019t like me saying it, but I say it anyway, because it\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

Trump spoke about Taiwan after meeting<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Trump avoided speaking publicly about Taiwan while in China, but discussed it with reporters on Air Force One after leaving Beijing.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Xi and I talked a lot about Taiwan,\u201d he said, adding that Xi \u201cdoes not want to see a fight for independence because that would be a very strong confrontation,\u201d per The Independent. \u201cI heard him out,\u201d Trump said, but \u201cI didn\u2019t make a comment\u201d.<\/p>\n

The US president also suggested he may reconsider a previously approved arms package for Taiwan after hearing Xi\u2019s concerns.<\/p>\n

His administration had authorized an $11 billion weapons package for Taipei in December, while lawmakers later approved another $14 billion sale in January.<\/p>\n
