THE BANK OF SECRETS<\/h1>\n

The rain finally began to weaken as Elias\u2019s truck sped down the empty highway toward Hollow Creek.
\nClara sat frozen in the passenger seat, clutching the silver key so tightly her fingers had gone numb. Mud covered her clothes. Her hands still shook from everything that had happened in the cemetery.
\nHer father murdered.

\nThey crossed the street quickly, staying hidden beneath shadows and rain-soaked alleys.
\nAs they approached the bank, Clara noticed security cameras mounted above the entrance.

The inside of the bank smelled like old paper, polished wood, and dust. Dim lights flickered overhead as Victor led them downstairs toward the vault.<\/p>\n

Clara\u2019s heartbeat quickened with every step.<\/p>\n

Finally they reached a massive steel door.<\/p>\n

Victor entered a code with trembling fingers.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re all over the news already,\u201d he whispered while the vault unlocked.<\/p>\n

Clara froze.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n

Victor looked confused.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou haven\u2019t seen it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Elias swore quietly under his breath.<\/p>\n

Victor pulled a small television from his office desk nearby and switched it on.<\/p>\n

Clara\u2019s blood turned cold instantly.<\/p>\n
